Highlighting odd and off-beat new releases to watch instantly on Netflix
New for August 8, 2011
The Lickerish Quartet (1970), directed by Radley Metzger, with Erika Remberg, Paolo Turco, Silvana Venturelli and Frank Wolff – Three people obsessed with an erotic film starring a striking blonde woman stumble upon her at a local carnival and invite her back to their castle to fulfill their families. Did I mention the “three people” happen to a be husband, wife and son? Finally, a movie which no one can relate to, except for maybe those castle-dwelling, carnival-frequenting incestuous family-types — which, to be fair, if you watch enough sleazy softcore movies from Europe circa 1970, would probably believe to be more prevalent than in reality. What? You mean people didn’t just hang out in castles and screw in the early 1970s? Radley Metzger is best known for the porno chic classic, The Opening of Misty Beethoven. With The Lickerish Quartet, Metzger was fluffing himself up for the hardcore stuff. (Available until August 2, 2012) [Links: IMDb, Trailer]
