Have you heard of Signior Benedick the Moor? If not, you haven’t been paying attention, at least not to us, as we’ve dropped some serious coverage on you like three times now. That’s one, two, three. And though we didn’t necessarily cover his spectacular debut, El Negro (re-released this year in physical format on Deathbomb Arc), it’s a piece of music you’d be irresponsible not to listen to. It anticipates a great hip-hop renaissance only hinted at by even the most experimental or prolific artists. And I haven’t even mentioned the two limited Deathbomb tapes. That’s right, there are one, two. There are enough links here to shake that ass at.
And now hear this! British/Portugese label Juicy Records is about to drop Benny’s next jam, the new 12″ Opus 3 – A Man Atop the Tower, and it’s true to form, gang. But don’t take my word for it. Or do – that’s why you come here, isn’t it? Anyway, take Juicy’s word as well:

With the artist delivering production, rhymes and artwork into a single conceptual piece – with a little help from Jonathan Snipes (of clipping. fame) and Thomas Dimuzio on mixing and mastering respectively – this is Benedick’s great opera in form of a record, a mature third opus in a very recent but already impressive body of work that yet stands out on its own and shows an evolution in songwriting and production style.
